Introducing The Billy Drummond Stand
As the Club prepare to kickstart our inaugural campaign in the West Of Scotland Football League we are pleased to announce that we have renamed our stand adjacent to the dugout after our young supporter Billy Drummond who sadly lost his life at the latter end of last year.
Our supporters will remember the club's campaign named ‘Wee Billy's Kits' as we encouraged other clubs to donate football strips to Billy, while he battled with his condition, to give him some motivation and joy at such a difficult time.
The community of Cambuslang was saddened to hear of Billy's passing in October 2020 and to pay tribute to him the club believe that in renaming the 'Billy Drummond Stand’ after him this will act as a longstanding memorial. We are grateful to Billy’s family for their blessing of Cambuslang Rangers immortalising Billy in this way and we want to make clear that they are always be made welcome when visiting Somervell Park.
In addition to the renaming of the stand Cambuslang Rangers FC can also confirm that we will have our very own Fan Zone for the upcoming season thanks to our partners at Legends Bar Diner which will be exclusively open to supporters for all home fixtures. We hope that the Camby Fan Zone will enable the club to continue to generate a positive atmosphere at home games whilst providing a space for fans to interact and take in the pre-match & post-match ‘buzz'.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the personnel involved in these developments over the last few months and their efforts are greatly appreciated by everyone involved at the club.
